Senator Vin Gopal Endorses Scutari for UCDC Chair

LINDEN, NJ - State Senator and former Monmouth County Democratic Chairman Vin Gopal has announced his endorsement of Senator Nick Scutari for Union County Democratic Chairman.

“The endorsement of my friend and colleague Senator Nick Scutari for Union County Democratic Chairman is very personal to me," said Senator Gopal. “As my race for State Senate tightened last year, I turned to Senator Scutari who provided financial support and guidance to help get me over the finish line.”

The Star-Ledger called Senator Gopal’s victory this past November “perhaps the biggest upset of (election) night.” He is the first South Asian-American elected to the New Jersey State Senate and currently the youngest member of the State Senate.

"I was widely considered the underdog and Nick Scutari didn't blink when I looked to him for support," said Gopal. "Our party needs leaders who will invest in the next generation of Democrats and will be tirelessly committed to getting them elected to office. I can speak from personal experience that Nick Scutari will be that kind of Chairman."
