Suspect Charged in Fatal Hit-and-Run Flees Country

NORTH PLAINFIELD, NJ – A 36-year-old suspect charged in the hit-and-run death of a pedestrian May 15th has fled the country, according to Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H. Robertson.

Canceled: Roselle PBA First Annual Charity Softball Tournament to be Rescheduled

ROSELLE, NJ -  Due to weather conditions, the Roselle PBA’s First Annual Charity Softball Tournament that was originally scheduled for this Saturday morning, has been canceled.  

The event’s rain date is also canceled and the event will be rescheduled at a later date. We will post that information when it becomes available.

Pedestrian Death Prompts Rahway Council to Introduce Ordinance to Make Intersection of Lake & Madison a 4-Way Stop

RAHWAY, NJ - The Rahway City Council unanimously introduced an ordinance that will make the intersection of West Lake Avenue and Madison Avenue a 4-way stop at its regular meeting held Monday night.

The public hearing on the measure is scehduled for June 11.

The introduction of the ordinance comes after a woman was struck and killed by a vehicle while crossing West Lake Avenue around 7 p.m.

Multi-jurisdictional Emergency Response Training Exercise to be Held in Linden

LINDEN, NJ - Local, County, and State agencies will be participating in a large scale, multi-jurisdictional emergency response training exercise on Wednesday in Linden.

The exercise is expected to begin approximately 8 a.m. and to last until approximately 3 p.m.  Areas will include parts of Memorial Field, Linden Firehouse #4, and the Union County Fire Academy.
