LINDEN, NJ - A 48-year-old Roselle man is in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle on Route 27, authorities said.
At approximately 12:15 p.m., Linden Police and Fire units responded to the scene of an auto-pedestrian accident on the 800 block of East St. George Avenue.
Preliminary reports indicated that the victim was crossing East St. George Avenue when he was struck by a 2019 Chevrolet Tahoe.
The man was transported to Newark University Hospital with serious injuries.
The driver, a 40-year-old Linden woman, as well as the passengers in the vehicle, were not injured in the crash.
East St. George Avenue was closed for several hours between West Baltimore Avenue and McCandless Street. It was reopened a little after 6:00 p.m.
The crash remains under investigation by the Linden Police Traffic Bureau.
