Tuckerton, NJ - Not your average Monday morning on Tuckerton Creek, as three men returning on with their oyster catch assisted in keeping a fire onboard another boat from getting out of control. Josh Bedea of West Creek spoke to TAPinto about the incident. He reported that he, along with Steve Bonnard and Dale Parson, saw the start of the boat fire on their way back to Tuckerton Marina. With smoke coming from the boat, Josh was concerned that the boat's captain might have inhaled smoke dived into the water with a scoop, so he can help put out the fire. The boat's captain was onboard using his extinguisher and, with the use of a local homeowner's fire extinguisher, everything was put out without injury to anyone.
Bonnard & Parson towed the boat to its slip where Marina Mechanics was able to assess repairs. Josh states ”He was just happy they were there to help and that everyone came out safe”.
