Little Egg Harbor, NJ - Last summer, Walmart announced its goal to be a zero waste company, and will be slowly removing plastic bags from all stores. Walmart Corporate has detailed an ambitious Environmental approach towards climate change, waste, natural capital and product supply chains. The company plans on finding alternatives to plastic not only in single use bags, but for single use products and PVC packaging.

As plastic bags disappear from local stores, new options will be made available for customers. According to the Walmart Sustainability Hub, in order to realize that aspiration, we must embrace the concept of “circular economy,” which moves away from a “take-and-dispose” approach to one that values reuse and regeneration. Look for these changes at the Super Center as early as July 1.
