ESSEX FELLS, NJ — The pedestrian fatally struck by a vehicle at approximately 9:25 a.m. on Tuesday morning in Essex Fells has been identified as Dr. Jan Huston-Pryor, 66, of Essex Fells.
Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn Murray and Essex Fells Police Chief William Theilacker announced Tuesday that the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office and the Essex Fells Police Department are investigating the incident and are not identifying the driver at this time.
Dr. Huston-Pryor was struck in the 200 block of Devon Road in Essex Fells, according to the prosecutor’s office. The driver remained at the scene. No one has been charged at this time.
Livingston police joined Essex Fells police on scene at the incident.
Dr. Huston-Pryor was transported to Mountainside Hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 9:45 am.
The investigation is active and ongoing.
