MILLBURN, NJ - Three days after a body was discovered by a woman walking her dog in South Mountain Reservation, authorities have determined the identity of the deceased woman.
Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn A. Murray announced Friday that the body has been identified as Deja Rodriguez, 24, of Newark.
Rodriguez was reported missing on Feb. 16. Her body was discovered in a secluded wooded area in a section of the park that is located in Millburn.
Although a final ruling on the cause and manner of Rodriguez' death will not be made until toxicology tests are completed, the Medical Examiner has said her death does not appear to be a homicide.
The investigation into Rodriguez' death is continuing.
Rodriguez' body was discovered Tuesday afternoon covered over with sticks, leaves and stones near the dog park in the reservation.
