LIVINGSTON, NJ - The Livingston baseball team continues on with its remaining Super Essex Conference games after being eliminated Thursday from the Group 4 state tournament.
On Friday, the Lancers defeated Montclair, 12-1, in six innings. Senior Ryan Cardona went the distance to raise his record to 9-0. He allowed five hits in six innings, struck out 11 and walked none.
Chris Myers hit a three-run homer and Anthony Lopa drove in three runs with two hits and scored two runs for Livingston 19-4). Kacey Chambers hit a two-run double and scored two runs, Will Egner add two hits, two RBI and two runs scored, Evan Kamikow knocked in two runs, and Chris Senney reached base all four times on two hits and two walks and scored three runs.
Livingston, the Greater Newark Tournament champion, wraps up its season with a home-and-home series against Columbia, playing on the road Wednesday and in Livingston Thursday. The Lancers can tie Seton Hall Prep and win a share of the SEC American Division title by sweeping Columbia.
