LIVINGSTON, NJ – On Sunday, March 9, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., the Simon Kidgits Clu® at the Livingston Mall is hosting its annual Book Blast in which parents and children are invited to bring books to life through special read-aloud sessions, giveaways and story-inspired activities. The event will provide families with the chance to make reading a fun, social experience with various kid-focused offerings. Participants will be treated to a bounce house, spin wheel, coloring station and bookmark craft.  Additionally, Simon Malls® is teaming up with Better World Books to provide each child that attends the event with a pre-loved book and bookmark to take home.  In addition, attendees may bring new or gently used books to donate to the Friends of the Livingston Public Library

The Book Blast will kick off with read-aloud sessions at 1:15 p.m., 1:45 p.m., 2:15 p.m., and 2:45 p.m. Many books will be read including those by Eric Carle, such as: The Very Hungry Caterpillar, The Grouchy Lady Bug, The Very Busy Spider, Brown Bear Brown Bear What Do You See?

“Because Simon Malls are destinations for families and friends to do more than just shop, Simon Kidgits Club is giving children the chance to experience all that books have to offer in a social setting,” said Jayne Stilson, assistant vice president of business development for Simon Brand Ventures, the business-to-consumer division of Simon Property Group. “We’re combining education with fun and allowing kids to simply have a blast with reading.”
