WEST ORANGE, NJ — After playing to a 1-1 deadlock in regulation, the West Orange boys soccer team was eliminated in a shootout by Livingston in the semifinal round of the NJSIAA North East G, Group 4 tournament on Thursday.

After two scoreless overtimes, the teams went to PKs to break the tie. After each team matched goals for the first three PK rounds, Livingston outscored the Mountaineers (13-1-1) in the last two PK rounds to win.

Darren Lewis scored the only goal for West Orange during regular game play in the first half. Nikolai Matthews made four saves for West Orange. Jared Fiske scored the first-half goal for Livingston (9-1-2) with an assist from Grant Shevrin.

Livingston will play at Montclair in the sectional final on Saturday. West Orange, which did not play Livingston during the regular season this fall, brought a 10-game winning streak into Thursday's semifinal. The game does not go into the record books as a loss, but as a tie.
