LIVINGSTON, NJ - It has been an honor to have served as a member of the Livingston Board of Education for the past three and a half years. I am proud of the Board’s accomplishments and would like the opportunity to continue to work with my fellow Board members in serving our community.
After many years working in a demanding professional environment, I sought fulfilling roles closer to home. For almost ten years, I have been actively involved in our school district, working with parents, teachers and administrators on behalf of the students of Livingston Public Schools. My experiences as a member of the Strategic Planning Committee, Budget Task Force, Livingston Education Foundation and PT Council, and as an elementary HSA President, provided me with in-depth knowledge of our school system and an appreciation for many different perspectives, and well-prepared me for my current role as a Board member. However, it has been my experiences on the Board since 2010 that have been particularly rewarding and educational. Board members must make well-informed policy decisions that maximize education while being fiscally responsible. With the changes in LPS leadership (three new Board members and a new Superintendent), I seek re-election so that my continued service will provide continuity to the Board, ensure the ongoing smooth transition, goal-setting and evaluation of our new Superintendent, and make certain that the district provides the best education possible to all of our students.
As a 1983 graduate of Livingston High School and the parent of three children (a senior and a sophomore at LHS and a fifth grader at Riker Hill), I am well-aware of all LPS has to offer but also that we must never rest on our laurels – we must strive to improve and do all we can to provide every opportunity for our students’ success.
