WEST ORANGE, NJ - Jason Didner and his kindie band, "Jungle Gym Jam," have launched a new music video called “Five Sea Lions.” The song was written by Didner and his wife Amy for their now 3-year -old daughter after learning that Turtle Back Zoo in West Orange was opening a new sea lion exhibit.

“This news touched on a fond memory we have of our first trip to California together, where the sea lions were playing and barking on the pier at San Francisco’s Fisherman’s Wharf,” Amy added. “We were inspired.”

"Five Sea Lions" is the third release from the band's debut album “Everyone’s Invited!” It is also the band's first animated video. Jungle Gym Jam is music geared for children, written and performed by professional musicians with eclectic backgrounds, including writing, video production, and children's entertainment. Jason and Amy Didner currently reside in Montclair.

The lyrics to "Five Sea Lions" feature a tropical reggae/ska beat and highlight sunny harmonies.  According to Didner, the song is a learning tool. “Pre-schoolers and toddlers are learning to count down from five, as they might with other songs like ‘Five Little Monkeys’ or ‘Five Freckled Frogs,’ while at the same time, grade schoolers are picking up a little marine biology and the differences between sea lions and seals. Later on in the song, we get into the reason for those differences.”

Let the Games Begin

I am truly awed by the Olympics.  Watching these superb young athletes on TV inspires me to renew my membership to the gym and pursue my lifelong dream of taking home the gold.

The problem is that in my deluded head, I can see actually see myself standing atop the podium.  I am wrapped in a puffy designer ski coat with a huge piece of bling slung around my neck ...
