LIVINGSTON, N J - Livingston High School hosted the 2015 Chinese New Year Celebration on Saturday, Jan. 31, sponsored by the Livingston Chinese Culture Day Committee (LCCD).

This cultural event was a joint effort of founding organizations including Livingston Chinese Association, Livingston Chinese School, Livingston Huaxia Chinese School, and Living Stone Christian Church, in collaboration with the Chinese program of Livingston High School and Livingston Youth & Community Services to promote Chinese culture and to better mutual understandings in the Livingston community. The celebration consisted of an eclectic mixture of performances and demonstrations by the students and parents of the community, highlighting the richness of Chinese culture.

A variety of activities celebrated the start of this new lunar year, the Year of the Sheep, including Chinese culture-related demonstrations, activities and games; an array of authentic Chinese foods; and an evening program of various cultural performances. In hopes of illustrating to the community the immense span of Chinese culture, the performances consisted of both traditional and novel aspects of Chinese society, mostly performed by the students and parents of Livingston Public Schools.

That became apparent again on Monday when members of the Paterson Fire Department responded to a fire at 268 Main Street, which led to the eventual total collapse of ...

Let the Games Begin

I am truly awed by the Olympics.  Watching these superb young athletes on TV inspires me to renew my membership to the gym and pursue my lifelong dream of taking home the gold.

The problem is that in my deluded head, I can see actually see myself standing atop the podium.  I am wrapped in a puffy designer ski coat with a huge piece of bling slung around my neck ...

In the Driver's Seat

Honey, I am going to take the Roadster out for a quick spin around the sun. I’ll be back in a few million years.

That’s nice dear. While you are out, could you pick up a gallon of milk?
