CIT Group Inc. (NYSE: CIT), a leading provider of financing to small businesses and middle market companies, today announced that its Livingston-based employees volunteered more than 1,000 hours to local community projects as part of CIT’s Global Employee Volunteer Month.
“CIT has a rich history of giving back to the neighborhoods in which we live and work throughout New Jersey,” said Sabriya Williams, Chair of CIT’s Livingston Volunteer Council. “Our employees are proud to volunteer their time as part of our annual Global Employee Volunteer Month. We are part of the fabric of our community and believe that by working together we can make a profound difference in the lives of others right here at home.”
Among the projects and drives CIT’s Livingston employees participated in were:
Constructing homes for Habitat for Humanity;
Cleaning The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks (The Elks) “Camp Moore;”
Assisting the Community Food Bank of New Jersey; and,
Hosting drives for Pancreatic Cancer, Dress for Success and Bridges Outreach, Inc.
Globally, more than 1,000 CIT employees volunteered over 6,000 hours during the Company’s sixth annual Global Employee Volunteer Month. Projects included food drives, tutoring students, delivering food to homebound individuals, constructing homes, and beautifying parks, among other areas.
