WEST ORANGE, NJ - Forecasted rain has delayed the construction closures slated for South Orange Avenue by one day to November 7, 8, and 12. Detours are planned along Cherry Lane, Northfield Avenue, and Wyoming Avenue.
According to Essex County Executive Joe DiVincenzo, South Orange Avenue between Cherry Lane/Brookside Drive and Wyoming Avenue will be closed to vehicular traffic from Friday, November 7 at 7 a.m. to Saturday, November 8 at 7 p.m. and Wednesday, November 12 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. South Orange is being closed so a pedestrian bridge can be installed over the roadway. This is part of the ongoing $30 million federally-funded project to flatten the curves in the road, enhance motor vehicle safety and improve storm drainage.
