NUTLEY, NJ — A pedestrian was struck by a New Jersey Transit bus at the intersection of Bloomfield Avenue and Centre Street at approximately 8:25 p.m. on Thursday.

The Nutley Police Department, Nutley Fire Department and the Nutley Volunteer Emergency and Rescue Squad responded to the scene. An 8:40 p.m. follow-up report from the Breaking News Network (BNN) stated that the EMS on the scene pronounced the victim as dead on arrival (DOA). No further information about the pedestrian is known at this time.

Emergency units are currently on the scene and area streets are blocked.
