CHATHAM, NJ — The New Jersey Youth Chorus is currently scheduling make up auditions for our 2018-2019 season. We will be hearing children for all five ensembles, in late August and early September.

NJYC, based in Chatham, NJ, is an auditioned choral program for boys and girls in grades 4 through 12. Rehearsals are held on Mondays during the school year at Chatham United Methodist Church. Our directors are inspired to work with and develop young voices, using choral music as a path to personal growth and development. The children in our choirs forge strong friendships with other choristers who have similar interests, building a sense of community and pride in their accomplishments. Our choirs focus on fun and camaraderie as well as musical excellence.

In addition to annual concerts in December and May, NJYC’s choirs perform at a variety of venues throughout the year. Past highlights include performances at Carnegie Hall, concerts with the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra, the Canadian Brass and The Chieftains, benefits for other children through our “Kids for Kids” mission, and singing the National Anthem for several major sports teams including the NY Mets, the NY Yankees, the NY Jets and the Red Bulls.  This year promises to provide many other exciting opportunities, including several choir festivals and an end of year tour for each ensemble.
