Kids aged 7-11 who love to be “on stage” are invited to a weeklong drama workshop at Trinity Covenant Church in Livingston. Planned for Monday – Friday evenings, Aug. 20-24, from 6-8 pm, the workshop will participate in a variety of drama activities including acting, improvisation, creative dramatics, and mask- and puppet-making. The workshop leader is Ilene Carter. Ms. Carter has an MA in Educational Theatre from New York University. Her background includes over 20 years of working with children and teenagers on the stage and in the drama classroom; she has also directed many shows and one-acts at schools, churches and community theatres, along with guiding young people as they collaboratively created and performed original works of theatre. Ms. Carter will be assisted by Anne Weinberg, the director of ministry to children and families at Trinity, along with other volunteers. A limited number of spots is available, on a first-come, first-served basis, for this program. To enroll, visit the church’s web site or call 973-992-4044 for a registration form.
