Essex-Area Chambers of Commerce Gather for Multi-Chamber BBQ

LIVINGSTON, NJ — Both members and non-members of the Livingston, North Essex, West Orange, Millburn/Short Hills, Livingston, South Orange and Maplewood Chambers of Commerce gathered at Livingston Bagel in May for the third annual multi-chamber barbecue, hosted by the Livingston Area Chamber of Commerce (LACC) and sponsored by George Press Jewelers, Jan Press Photo Media, RWJBarnabas Health and Regal Bank.

According to many of the guests, the barbecue was a unique opportunity for Essex County’s business leaders to broaden their networks and make new connections.

“My first Livingston Chamber of Commerce meeting was a very rewarding and I left feeling part of something bigger,” said Matthew Russo, administrator at Care One at Livingston. “The friendly people at the chamber meeting were extremely welcoming, open and approachable making feel associated with the group immediately.”

Russo also said that he interacted with a number of people who also work in healthcare and made connections with folks from many other industries as well.

“The camaraderie was amazing, the food was delicious and I couldn’t have asked for a better community introduction,” said Russo. “I am looking forward to seeing everyone again real soon.”

Russo specifically thanked LACC board member Mike McMane for the invitation, and McMane in turn thanked Dan Blue, owner of Livingston Bagel and a fellow chamber member, for hosting the event.

"The annual spring Multi Chamber networking event that we have at Livingston Bagel was once again our best multi-event of the year,” said McMane. “There was a great turnout, especially from my Livingston Chamber and our West Orange Chamber colleagues.”

Donna Plotnick, marketing director at Arden Courts in West Orange, said she met some new contacts and also saw a few familiar faces at the event.

“Everyone attending was friendly and very professional," she said.

“Loved the atmosphere,” said Natalia Gluhovsky of Newmark Realty in Cedar Knolls. “It was welcoming, warm and laid back, which made it easy to meet new people.”

Live entertainment was provided at the event by the Red Light Band.
