Essex County Vo-Tech School Fair Set for Nov. 15

WEST ORANGE, NJ - The Essex County Vocational Technical School District will hold an informational Fair on Saturday, Nov. 15 from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm at Essex County Newark Tech, 91 West Market Street, Newark, NJ. The Fair is geared towards Seventh and Eighth grade students and their families looking for an option to regular high school.

Applications to the district’s four schools – Essex County Newark Tech and Essex County North 13th Street in Newark, Essex County Bloomfield Tech and Essex County West Caldwell Tech – will be available on site. Students, graduates, faculty and administrators from the four Essex County high schools can  visit booths that feature the academic programs will also be present to meet students and families and answer questions.

Programs of study include: Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources; Architecture and Construction; Arts, Audio-Video Technology and Communications; Business, Management and Administration; Education and Training; Finance; Government and Public Administration; Health Science; Hospitality and Tourism; Human Services; Information Technology; Law, Public Safety, Corrections and Security; Manufacturing; Marketing; Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics; and Transportation, Distribution and Logistics.

The Essex County Vocational Technical School District is New Jersey’s first Vocational Technical School System. Created in 1914, the school system provides both occupational and academic instruction for high school and adult students in the Essex County region. The district has an enrollment of about 2,200 students and provides high level state-of-the-art occupational skill development and academic opportunities in over 25 career areas.

Man Stabbed in Valley Section of West Orange

WEST ORANGE – A West Orange man was stabbed Sunday evening during an attack in The Valley section of the township, according to officials.
