Estelle Finkel Offers Study Skills, Computer Coding and 2-D Video Game Design Classes in February


LIVINGSTON, NJ — Estelle Finkel Learning Center, located at 125 West Mount Pleasant Avenue, recently announced its offerings for February. Programs include a study skills workshop for middle and high school age students, computer coding and 2-D video game design:

When: Sundays, February 12, 19, and 26 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Where: 125 W Mt Pleasant Ave in Livingston
Cost:  $195 for 6 hours of small group instruction           

Saturday STEM Academy

Dates: Saturday, February 4, 11, 25, March 4, 11, 18, 25

Class Times: 9: 00 a.m. to 10 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. to 12 noon

Grades 3 – 5: Computer Coding (9 a.m.) 2-D Video Game Design (10:30 a.m.)

Grades 6 – 8: 2-D Video Game Design (9 a.m.) Computer Coding (10:30 a.m.)

Cost: $195 Register online

Computer Coding

Do you love technology and figuring out how things work? If so, this class will be a perfect match! Coding class provides an innovative approach for students to learn computer programming skills through interactive projects. Students will learn basic coding and programming, while also incorporating logic, physics, and important problem-solving skills. Students will also have the opportunity to work collaboratively in order to challenge and learn from each other.

2-D Video Game Design

Create a 2-D side-scrolling video game using GameMaker! Customize your levels and characters to make your own game complete with secrets and powerups. Learn about level layouts and how animations are made. This class is a guaranteed favorite! Students must bring their own laptops that use a Windows platform.
