LIVINGSTON, NJ – Fit 36 of Livingston celebrated its official grand opening in the town center with a ceremonious ribbon cutting on Monday, hosted by the Livingston Area Chamber of Commerce (LACC).

Livingston Mayor Shawn Klein cut the ribbon alongside Fit 36 franchise owners Adam Selman and Joseph Grey as well as other council members and various community leaders. Klein said he and other township officials are excited to have a new business in the most visible intersection of town.

“We do not want an empty space at the busiest intersection,” said Klein, who also cited a study conducted by Yahoo! Shine and Facebook in 2013 that recognized Livingston as the No. 5 fittest municipality in the country. "This was based on interest there is and how much discussion there was on Facebook. Livingston loves its gyms, we use our gyms, we have great facilities and we are happy to have another one.”

Bipartisan or Bystander?

Bipartisanship means active, often contentious, yet respectful  cooperation, (and ultimate compromise), between two political parties for the ultimate betterment of their constituents. It is creating productive discussion to achieve a synthesis of ideas. Thus, the welfare of the people always comes before party loyalty.

It's also about speaking up.

Gone, But Not Forgotten

Recently my dad showed me a plaque he had been awarded from his alma mater.  He graduated from a well-respected University in the Midwest after WWII.  It was where he met my mom.

He is 90 now.
