LIVINGSTON, NJ -- The Livingston football team fell behind by four touchdowns in the first half and Pope John of Sparta went on to defeat the Lancers, 41-0.

Although it was the first victory for Pope John (1-3), the Sussex County team plays an elite schedule comprised entirely of parochial and private-school powers other than Livingston--the only public school on Pope John's schedule.

David Cotugno completed 18 of 25 passes for 152 yards for Livingston. Lancers' receiver Luke Nardone had another strong effort, catching eight passes for 89 yards. Brian Russo rushed for 55 yards on seven carries in the loss.
