NEWARK, NJ - The former president of the Essex County Sheriff’s Officers PBA Local 183, Christopher Tyminski, was recently arrested for using a PBA-issued credit card to pay for more than $14,000 in repairs to his personal vehicle, according to the Essex County Prosecutor's Office.

None of the allegations involve Tyminski’s official capacity within the Essex County Sheriff’s Department, according to a statement made by Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn Murray.

Tyminski was served and processed by the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office on Friday and was given an arraignment date of Feb. 16.

Murray stressed that these are accusations and that all defendants are presumed innocent unless and until they plead guilty or are found guilty in a court of law.
