BLOOMFIELD, NJ – Westbridge Academy, a private school serving students in grades K-12 with emotional, behavioral and learning challenges, is hosting a free program for area educators and service providers and includes access to three CEU credits for attending. The workshop, "Creating Emotionally Intelligent Classrooms: Strategies for Educators,” will be offered in two half-day sessions at the Academy’s campus located at 60 West Street in Bloomfield on Dec. 9.
Committed to providing special needs educators with practices for the best student outcomes, Westbridge Academy has invited Dr. “Buzz” Mingin to teach strategies that will help professionals to create more calm and effective classrooms. The curriculum will include: developing a predictable classroom, preventing debate among non-compliant students and reasons for troubled behavior.
Dr. “Buzz” Mingin, the presenter, is a nationally recognized speaker specializing in children and adolescents with behavioral and emotional disorders. He has published several books, is the president of Buzz’s Bookworm Inc., a support center for students with behavioral and emotional afflictions, and the director of World Karate Studio, a martial arts program that teaches social skills and behavioral management to children with disabilities.
This program is offered as an outreach service to the greater education community in and around central New Jersey. There is no cost for the workshop. Educators can earn three CEU Credits by attending. Registration is required. Register HERE or call 973-429-8110.
