LIVINGSTON, NJ - Friends of the Livingston Public Library is celebrating Valentine's Day on Saturday, Feb. 14, by inviting patrons to ‘go on a blind date with a book.’ Members of the community may pick up a free wrapped book at the Friends display at the library all day on Saturday (while supply lasts).
“A gift wrapped book makes a lovely treat for someone special this Valentine's Day,” said a library representative. “A book can also be a Valentine's friend for yourself; it can be your blind date for the evening.”
Friends will also be offering discounts on gift memberships purchased by the end of day Saturday. Discounts on gift memberships will range from 20-30 percent , depending upon the membership level selected.
“Giving the gift of friendship is a thoughtful way to express to your feelings to a special friend,” added the representative.
Patrons may use the form available HERE to order a gift membership or pick up a form at the Library. Friends is a non-profit 501c(3) entity whose mission is to support the Livingston Library. Friends sponsors the Children's and Teens Summer Reading Program and Yoga for Kids ,as well as several series of library programs for all ages including Music Matters, Think Theater, Literary Liaisons, and lifelong learning lectures. Friends also funds the Museum Pass Program , the E-Reader Experience, which allows patrons to borrow e-readers with preloaded books, the purchase of hundreds of books yearly, the subscription to Book Page, and other programs and services not covered by Library's budget from the Township.
