HCHY Invites Public to Learn About Cycle for Survival and School Safety

LIVINGSTON, NJ – Livingston residents are invited to attend the upcoming general membership meeting of Healthy Communities Healthy Youth (HCHY), a community organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of children in Livingston, on Thursday, January 16, at 7 p.m. at the Community Center. Seating is limited and RSVP is required via an email to Martha Ackerman at

Attendees will enjoy the following presentations:

  1. Sandy and Leonard Goodman will talk about the upcoming Cycle for Survival event that is scheduled to take place on February 8; and
  2. Dr. John Alfieri, Superintendent of Schools and Security, and Safety Director Matthew DeLaRosa will be discussing Security & Safety in the schools.

HCHY Livingston partners with many community organizations including the United Way of North Essex, the Search Institute, America’s Promise Alliance, Livingston Clergy Association, Livingston Public Schools, Parent-Teacher Council of Livingston, Livingston Township Council, Township of Livingston Human Services Division, Vision 20/20 Committee of Livingston, Livingston Municipal Alliance Committee (LMAC), Livingston Youth & Community Services (LYCS), West Essex YMCA, Children’s Theater of Livingston, and the Jewish Family Service of Metrowest.

WEST ORANGE, NJ – The Turtle Back Zoo welcomes Essex County residents to meet adoptable dogs, cats, puppies and kittens while supporting local animal shelters and rescue groups during “BARKtoberfest,” scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 29 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
