LIVINGSTON, NJ — March along to the beat of “Seventy-Six Trombones” as Heritage Middle School presents Meredith Willson’s “The Music Man” this weekend. Showtimes of this classic, family friendly musical are 7 p.m. on Friday, March 18 and Saturday, March 19, with a 2 p.m. showing on Sunday, March 20.

“The Music Man” follows fast-talking traveling salesman Harold Hill as he cons the people of River City, Iowa, into buying instruments and uniforms for a boys' band he vows to organize -- this despite the fact he doesn't know a trombone from a treble clef. His plans to skip town with the cash are foiled when he falls for Marian the librarian, who transforms him into a respectable citizen by curtain's fall.

Performances will be in the Heritage auditorium, 20 Foxcroft Drive. Tickets are $7 and available at the door.

The cast includes: Quinn Davidson, Jessica Woodlee, Griffin Wade, Shaam Beed, Jilian Skara, Madison Lysek, Diego Bolanos, Maya Kedar-Mehl, Brian Tsymbal, Sydney Muench, Carley Margolis, Matthew Warren, Robyn Burger, TJ Lillis, Robbie Coleman, Jaina Jallow, Sylvia Fereira, Megan Rossilli, Fayona Prupis, Gabby DeFilippo, Bonnie Little, Owen Kasmin, Lauren Altman, Priyal Patel, Katelyn Barckley, Esha Mampilly, Ally Mintz, Sofia Frade, Grace Song, and Audrey Schilling.

Would Shedding

How much wood wouldn’t a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck woodn’t?

Extra Time

It was close to 70 minutes into the match and I had to go to the bathroom.  Badly.

As fans watching the World Cup know too well, bathroom breaks are a serious dilemma, especially for those who don’t have a TV in the loo.  This biological necessity is exasperated by beer, which during World Cup matches also fuels a strong propensity to throw chairs and instigate riots.
