WEST ORANGE, NJ — The Livingston ice hockey team, the No. 1 seed of the McInnis Cup, defeated fourth-seeded Montclair Kimberley, 6-4, in the semifinal round at Codey Arena in West Orange on Tuesday. Livingston will take on the winner of Tuesday’s match between Summit and Verona-Glen Ridge in the final on Saturday.
Ronan Tattersall was the top scorer for the Lancers with two goals. Chase Friedfertig had a goal and three assists and Steven Orciuloi, Max Solomon and Eric Frieman each had one goal and an assist.
Ociuoli’s goal came in the first period off an assist from Tattersall, who scored in the second and again in the third to secure Livingston’s lead. Solomon, Friedfertig and Frieman each scored in the second.
Although Montclair Kimberley’s James Buckley, Mathew Buckley, Brian Schindler and Zachary Schaller scored against him, Livingston keeper Matthew Delseni managed 17 saves for the Lancers.
The Lancers return to Codey Arena for the final round on Saturday at 5:45 p.m.
