WEST ORANGE, NJ - Max Solomon scored two goals to send Livingston to a 3-1 ice hockey victory over West Essex on Monday afternoon.

Livingston (3-1-1) netted a goal in each period. Solomon scored the first two, connecting on a power play with an assist from Greg Rocheville with 8:21 showing in the opening period, and then scoring again unassisted with 10:10 to go in the second period.

The Lancers built a 3-0 lead on Ronan Tatersall's goal with 14:29 left in the final period before West Essex (2-3) averted the shutout when Sammy Friedman assisted Jared Huff on a goal with 10:58 remaining.

Livingston outshot West Essex, 39-12. Matthew Delseni made 11 saves for the Lancers. Kavan Johnson kept the Knights in the game by turning away 36 of the 39 shots he faced.
