WEST ORANGE, NJ — The Livingston ice hockey team is now 12-2-2 on the season after defeating Verona 7-3 on Wednesday. Last week, the Lancers also saw a 2-0 victory over Westfield and a 1-1 tie with Summit.

With five goals and an assist in the victory over Verona, senior Chase Friedfertig continues to lead the offense for Livingston. In the victory over Westfield, Friedfertig had one goal and one assist.

Ronan Tattersall added two goals in the third period and an assist in the second, along with Dylan Foley and Ben Litvin, who had two assists a piece on Wednesday.

Keeper Mattew Delsini had 15 saves, allowing only three goals against him throughout the game. Two of those goals came in the first period, leaving Verona at a 2-0 lead heading into the second.

The Lancers managed four goals in the second period that were unanswered until a goal by Verona’s Steven Topping in the third.

Compared to Delsini’s 15 saves, the Verona keeper had 30. Overall, the Lancers took 37 shots on goal compared to Verona’s 17.

The boys will take on Montclair Kimberly Academy on Saturday.
