Intergenerational Prom Plans Begin in Livingston

LIVINGSTON, NJ — Planning has begun for Livingston's annual Intergenerational Prom, a collaborative event between Livingston Public Schools, the Township of Livingston and the LHS Key Club, will be held on Wednesday, April 11, at 5:30 p.m.

With a theme of “Celebration Time,” the prom will celebrate its 30th “birthday” this year. More information will be shared as it becomes available.

Shown above at the first planning meeting are committee members (standing) Martha Ackerman and Trish Mattia, both staff members at Livingston High School; (seated) committee volunteer Bunny Ratner; Liliana Branquinho, the township’s Senior and Adult Enrichment and Special Events Supervisor; and Michelle Bent, the school district’s communication and community outreach coordinator. 

Also on the committee are Michael Fassbender and Nicole Cooper of Aramark Food Service, LHS principal Mark Stern and Melissa Cohen of the Livingston Education Foundation (LEF).

Millburn's Peter Serruto Drafted by Cincinnati Reds

MILLBURN, NJ - Peter Serruto, who just completed his senior season at Millburn High School, was selected by the Cincinnati Reds in the 22d round of the Major League Baseball Amateur Draft on Wednesday.

Serruto was the 649th pick overall.

The 6-foot, 190-pound right-handed batter has been a defensive standout since he first suited up in a Millburn uniform as a freshman.
