LIVINGSTON, NJ — Livingston residents are reminded that the primary election is being held this Tuesday, July 7, almost exclusively by mail-in ballot.
Per Gov. Phil Murphy's executive order, every registered Republican and Democratic voter was automatically mailed a vote-by-mail (VBM) ballot, and all unaffiliated/undeclared voters were mailed an application to request a VBM ballot.
All residents are urged to use their VBM ballot. Provisional ballots are counted last and must be checked against the VBM Ballots that have already been cast before they are accepted and canvassed.
Livingston’s two polling places—Livingston Senior and Community Center (204 Hillside Avenue) and Livingston Town Hall (357 S. Livingston Avenue)—will only provide:
- ADA voting by audio on a voting machine.
- Provisional ballots (similar to a VBM ballot) for any others who show up.
VBM ballots can be mailed at the Post Office, placed in a standard mailbox, or placed in an Essex County Mail-In Ballot Drop-Off Box.
Essex County Drop-Off Boxes are located at:
