Kidgits Club Book Blast! at Livingston Mall, March 7th

Curious George brings his mischievous monkey adventures to Livingston Mall as the Simon Kidgits Club holds Book Blast! from 1:00 p.m. through 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 7, 2010 in Center Court.

The 7th annual event, sponsored by Livingston Mall, its owner, Simon Property Group, and Universal Studios Home Entertainment, is a free family event that shows children the joys of reading and the power of imagination through books, storytelling and other fun, hands-on activities. The first 100 kids to attend the event will receive Curious George activity kits, filled with Curious George coloring pages, a magic paint palette, fun stickers, a Curious George mask and more, and members of the Kidgits Club will receive a free Kidgits book. The Cookie Mouse from "If You Give a Mouse a Cookie" and Pancake Pig from "If You Give a Pig a Pancake" will be on-hand to meet Kidgits members.

Universal Studios Home Entertainment will preview its March 2 release of "Curious George 2: Follow That Monkey," an all-new animated feature-length film exclusively on DVD. Filled with delightful antics, gentle humor and heartfelt emotion, this charming sequel to the hit 2006 animated film is based on the popular original book series that also spawned an acclaimed PBS children's program, interactive games and toys and an original live musical stage show currently touring the U.S. "Book Blast! is a great way for kids to learn how fun reading actually can be," said Elizabeth DiDuca, area director of marketing & business development for Livingston Mall and Rockaway Townsquare. "It's a great way for families to spend some quality time together in a fun, free and comfortable environment as they explore the joys of reading." Children who are attending Book Blast! are invited to bring a new or gently used book to the event. The books will be donated to a local organization.

Book Blast! /Add One During the event, a guest reader will be on-hand to read select books, including "Curious George 2: Follow That Monkey," the new paperback adaptation of the movie published by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt; "Olivia Acts Out" and "SpongeBob RoundPants," published by Simon & Schuster; as well as "If You Give a Mouse a Cookie" and "If You Give a Pig a Pancake."
