WEST ORANGE, NJ - The Thomas Edison National Historical Park, located at 211 Main St. in West Orange, continues its Year of Innovation programming with series of events highlighting Edison's experiments in electrical lighting as well as new milennium lighting technology.

Edison helped to establish the development of the first truly practical incandescent electric lamp as well as the infrastructure for mass production, and therefore, electric light and power utilities.  Early central stations established in London and Pearl Street in New York City paved the way for a display at the 1889 Paris Exposition.
