LIVINGSTON, NJ — The 79th annual Livingston 4th of July Celebration kicks off Saturday at the Oval at 9 a.m. with the biggest July 4th Car Show in New Jersey. The all-day celebration will continue with rides, CBS-FM's prize wheel, contests, games, ice cream-and watermelon-eating contests, grilling at the Gazebo, free Rolling Video Games, a Bands and Beer Café for those over 21 years old and the traditional Fireworks Display at nightfall.
Brought to Memorial Park by the Livingston 4th of July Committee and presented courtesy of the Livingston Township Council, the Livingston 4th of July Celebration is open to people of any and all ages to come early and stay late. Some of this year’s most anticipated events include the 22nd Annual Auto Show, the Kiwanis Swim Karnival, pony rides sponsored by Regal Bank, 101.1 CBS-FM music and prizes, Mini Golf & Connect Four, Kidz Zone Rides, Powerhouse Studios and Danny V’s 52nd Street Band.
For kids, the celebration offers wristband-unlimited, free rides from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. For adults 21-years and older, the Bands & Beer Café will provide entertainment and refreshments to wash down the BBQ, empanadas, lobster and shrimp rolls and pizza. All ages are welcome to enjoy the 2015 food fest and music courtesy of this year’s Café bands: The Stiff Joints, Oxygen Box and The Rents. The 52nd Street Band will provide the lead-in to the Fireworks Display at 7:45 p.m.

In case of inclement weather, daytime activities will be held in the High School Cafeteria and afternoon and evening performances will be held as scheduled at the covered stage on the Oval. The decision on Fireworks will be made no later that 2 p.m. on Saturday, with a rain date of Sunday, July 5 at 9:15 p.m.
