LIVINGSTON, NJ — Summer is in full swing, as is the Livingston Area Chamber of Commerce (LACC).

On July 14, the Chamber had sixty five people attend and network at our summer networking BBQ held at Livingston Bagel. People ate hamburgers, hot dogs and short ribs that were to die for.

During our BBQ, we were treated to the soulful sounds of seven time Emmy Award winner and previous Kool and the Gang member Hunter Hayes. We even had some folks up and dancing.

There was the weather forecast for the day that told us that the BBQ was going to be moved inside, but we were lucky and able to have the event on Livingston Bagel’s outdoor patio. I had a few people that were driving on Northfield Road stop and ask what was going on.

As Chamber President, I am proud to be able to say that our Chamber is thriving and able to hold events for businesses to network with each other and for the public to see that we are all trying to keep business in Livingston and see how we can help each other by referring and doing business together.

In attendance, who is a regular at our events, was Mayor Michael Silverman. Here is what the Mayor had to say:

"What a great evening with the Livingston Chamber of Commerce. It is always great when Livingston business owners (many of whom are residents as well) come together to share ideas, have fun and simply enjoy the comrade of our town. As I have been saying all year: Livingston, like many towns throughout our county, is built on the back of small/neighborhood businesses. I truly believe that Livingston is a very special place to Live Love and Shop. Thank you to the Livingston Area Chamber of Commerce and all the businesses throughout Livingston (in attendance at the event or not) for continuing the traditions of our great town. Looking forward to an amazing economically successful half of 2015."

Our next event will be another evening networking event held at 18/8 Men’s Salon at Livingston Town Center on Aug. 12 from 5:30 p.m. until 7 p.m.

Come see what all of the hype is about.

Let the Games Begin

I am truly awed by the Olympics.  Watching these superb young athletes on TV inspires me to renew my membership to the gym and pursue my lifelong dream of taking home the gold.

The problem is that in my deluded head, I can see actually see myself standing atop the podium.  I am wrapped in a puffy designer ski coat with a huge piece of bling slung around my neck ...
