Livingston Area Chamber of Commerce to Host Third Lunch and Learn

Joseph Altomare, Exclusive Master Broker, Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of NJ

LIVINGSTON, NJ — Members and non-members of the Livingston Chamber of Commerce (LACC) are invited to join Joseph Altomare, Exclusive Master Broker, Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of NJ, at the LACC’s third monthly “Lunch and Learn” event on July 25 from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Livingston Community Center located at 204 Hillside Avenue, Lower Level.

The Lunch and Learn provides a unique networking opportunity to those who cannot attend the LACC’s monthly resource breakfast and after-hours events. In addition to networking over free lunch, the event also provides a series of discussions intended to focus on advanced topics and challenges common to established small businesses, including effective branding, public relations, lead generation, building a sales team and more.

The July speaker will introduce the topic, “Health Insurance, What the Heck is Going On?”

Altomare is a Rutgers University graduate, class of 1990 with a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing. Joe resides in Wayne NJ with his wife and two sons. He started in the insurance industry in 1992 as a sales representative for Horizon BCBSNJ for five years, where he dealt with small groups and agents to analyze and implement employee benefit programs.

After leaving Horizon, Altomare worked as a sales representative for Oxford Health Plans for two years dealing with larger groups and health insurance consultants to find and implement solutions to attract and retain employees. He left the insurance carrier side in 1999 to work as an insurance agent.

In 2000, Altomare founded Altomare Financial Group, Inc. to distribute and service Horizon products and services to individuals and groups up to 500 lives. In addition to health insurance, his agency has expanded to offer Medicare, life, vision and dental programs.

The July Lunch and Learn is sponsored by Ike’s Bagels. Upcoming Lunch and Learns are scheduled for August 22 and September 26.
