LIVINGSTON, NJ — In order to maintain the usual formality, decorum and efficiency of Livingston Board of Education (LBOE) meetings in the virtual format while still allowing community members to ask questions and voice their opinions, the district has adjusted its public comment guidelines for all future meetings.

“Last week, we had over eight pages of Emailed questions, so we really would like to shift the focus to questions at the board meeting,” LBOE President Ronnie Konner said during the Sept. 9 meeting. “You certainly can log in and register for the webinar, and there is also a call-in number so that if you do not have computer access, you can call in and ask your questions accordingly.”

Until further notice, those who wish to participate in the meeting must be registered for the live webinar.

Once in the webinar, those who wish to speak must raise their hand virtually and must state their name and address for the record when called upon. A call-in number will also be provided upon registration for those who do not have access to a computer.

A timer will be displayed on the screen for each speaker, who will have three minutes to address the board.

The LBOE will no longer be accepting questions and/or comments for meetings via Email for public meeting. However, feedback and questions are always welcome via Email to for remote learning or for general topics.

Comments and questions shared via Email will be shared with the appropriate party for review.

The board will also not be communicating through livestream comments on Facebook or through any means of virtual communication within the webinar.

During the live webinar, the LBOE will hear all comments and will respond accordingly.

The next LBOE meeting will be held on Monday, Sept. 21 at 8 p.m. The meeting agenda and instructions for registration can be found on the Livingston Public Schools website on the day of the meeting.

Those unable to register for the webinar can also view the meeting on the Livingston Public Schools Facebook page
