Livingston Board of Education Welcomes New Supervisors of Special Services

Terry Santora and Todd Mitchell

LIVINGSTON, NJ – The Livingston Board of Education recently announced Terry Santora and Todd Mitchell as two new additions to the District’s special education team.

Santora and Mitchell have been hired to serve as Supervisors of Special Services and will work with Assistant Superintendent, Lawrence Russell, to serve Livingston and its special education needs.

“Their roles will expand on our commitment to effectively and efficiently serve students and their families, and to guide our teachers and child study teams,” said Superintendent Dr. John B. Alfieri. (Read more about the appointments in the Superintendent’s Blog by clicking here).
Recently, Santora retired from Millburn Township Public Schools where she held the position of Supervisor of Special Services.  In Millburn, she provided decades of service to special needs students and their families.  Santora will be working in Livingston on an interim basis.

Todd Mitchell joins Livingston from the Vernon Township School District, where he’s also been a Supervisor for Special Services.  During his career, Mitchell worked in private practices and medical settings as a licensed, professional Physical Therapist before joining public schools, where he has built programs for preschool children and autistic children.
The duo will be taking over for Linda Edwards who is leaving Livingston to become Director of Special Services in the Scotch Plains-Fanwood Public Schools.
The Department of Student Services is comprised of the child study team (learning consultant, psychologists and social workers), special education teachers, school counselors, health services, speech and language therapists, occupational therapists and assistants, aides and behaviorists. Learn more by clicking here.

Extra Time

It was close to 70 minutes into the match and I had to go to the bathroom.  Badly.

As fans watching the World Cup know too well, bathroom breaks are a serious dilemma, especially for those who don’t have a TV in the loo.  This biological necessity is exasperated by beer, which during World Cup matches also fuels a strong propensity to throw chairs and instigate riots.
