Livingston BOE and Administration to Discuss Snow Make-Up Days

Credits: BOE Website

LIVINGSTON, NJ - The Livingston Board of Education (BOE) and the administration are wrestling with the impact of the winter weather, and have been asked by members of the community to consider whether the current calendar serves the best interests of the students. They will be discussing the impact on the calendar at the BOE meeting that is being held on Monday, Feb. 10 at 7 p.m., in the Livingston High School auditorium.

Parents, faculty, staff and other interested parties are invited to attend the meeting and participate in the discussion. The BOE and administration have said that no option will be ideal for all people, but that the school board and administration will strive to reach the right result that serves the students, staff and community in the best and most fair manner.

The school calendar has three snow days built in for the current school year. Livingston has already lost two additional days this year due to inclement weather. Based on the current calendar, school will now be in session on Monday, April 14 and Tuesday, April 15. Any further missed days will continue to be taken from April break.
At the next BOE meeting, there will be a discussion regarding various options that the BOE may take. Those options include re-instituting school this coming Friday, February 14 and/or President’s Day, Monday, Feb. 17, to extending the last day of school, (currently scheduled on Friday, June 20), to leaving the calendar unchanged.

The BOE may or may not take action on the calendar at this meeting. No action means the calendar will remain as is.

How much wood wouldn’t a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck woodn’t?

Extra Time

It was close to 70 minutes into the match and I had to go to the bathroom.  Badly.

As fans watching the World Cup know too well, bathroom breaks are a serious dilemma, especially for those who don’t have a TV in the loo.  This biological necessity is exasperated by beer, which during World Cup matches also fuels a strong propensity to throw chairs and instigate riots.
