LIVINGSTON, NJ — Livingston senior Olivia Shevrin, scoring three of the five goals in the North Jersey, Section 1, Group 4 quarterfinal round, led the No. 1 Livingston Lancers girls soccer team to a 5-0 victory over No. 9 Passaic Tech on Friday. The shutout advances Livingston into the section semifinals against No. 5 Kearny on Tuesday.
In addition to Shevrin’s three goals, both Megan and Caitlyn Leffler also scored, with assists from Tori Belcuore, Jenna Cappuccino, Kayla Parsons and two from Caitlyn Sugarman. Livingston keepers Nicole Kwoczka and Jocelyn McCauley made one save apiece throughout the game.
The Lancers held a strong 4-0 lead heading into the half and secured the win with a fifth goal in the second. Livingston had a total of 24 shots on goal.
The Lancers take on Kearny on Tuesday in hopes of advancing to the section finals on Nov. 11. Should they win, the Lancers will take on the winner of the semifinal round between No. 7 West Orange and No. 3 Montclair.
