Livingston Girls Volleyball Aims for SEC American Division Title Following 'Senior Night' Victory over Bloomfield

LIVINGSTON, NJ — Entering the final part of the season with a 14-4 record, running neck and neck with Verona for the SEC American Division title, the 2016 Livingston girls volleyball team secured an important victory over the Bloomfield Bengals, 2-0, on Oct. 18—bringing the Lancers' record to 15-4.

During the match, the team also celebrated and honored its eight seniors, including team captains Gayle Edelstein, Victoria Fogg, Desi Brower and Rachel Cherny as well as seniors Samantha Fern, Samara Spiler, Stephanie Tam and Erin Dunne. Senior Managers Tim Lockwood, Shannon Li and Dev Patel were also honored.

The Lancers still must play two more important conference matches against Caldwell on Thursday and Montclair-Kimberley on the following Monday to round out the regular-season schedule.

The Lancers will begin their run for the Essex County title on Saturday at home at 10 a.m. in the first round of the ECADA county tournament.

The quarterfinals will be played on Tuesday, Oct. 25 at home, with the semifinals being held on Thursday, Oct. 27 at West Essex. Game times are 5 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.

The Finals will be hosted by Livingston on Saturday, Oct. 29 at 1 p.m.

The NJSIAA tournament will begin after the State-seeding meeting on Oct. 26.
