LIVINGSTON, NJ - The Kiwanis Club of Livingston recently presented checks of $2,500 to the Livingston Fire Department, which has served the community for 94 years, and the First Aid Squad which has been of service for 65 years. In addition, every August, the Club runs a Golf Outing to help provide funds for these volunteer departments.
“Kiwanis is happy to be able to help support the Squad, which has been servicing Livingston for 65 years,” said a member of the club.
Kiwanis member Bruce Van Ysseldyk presented Fire Dept President Tom Cooney, and Asst Fire Chief Kevin Francione, with a hand-carved wooden model of the department's 1920 fire truck that was nicknamed Snow White. The truck was carved by a great uncle of Judy Van Ysseldyk.
According to the website, Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to improving the world
one child and one community at a time.
