LIVINGSTON, NJ — Three members of the Livingston High School girls soccer team were named to the Super Essex Conference All-American Division First Team for 2020.
Lauren Belcuore, Alexis Scherago and Jadyn Liebman of Livingston all were named by conference coaches to the first team.
Belcuore, a senior who will continue her career at Villanova University, scored 13 goals and had seven assists this season. In 70 career games, finished with 58 goals and 32 assists.
"Lauren is an important leader for us," said Carr. "She’s been the captain since she was 15 years old and has brought with her an impressive desire to win. Her work rate is fantastic, and she deserves all the recognition she gets."
In her first scrimmage game in her junior year, Scherago tore her ACL. She had surgery and fully recovered within seven months. A top-level defender on a team that shut out six opponents, Scherago, a team captain for the Lancers, will be attending Brandeis University in the fall and intends to play soccer there.
Liebman, a junior midfielder, finished the season with five goals and a team-high nine assists.
Kylie Prendergast and Kylie Mistretta of Livingston both were selected to the division's second team. Prendergast totaled three goals and four assists. Mistretta was another standout defender on the back line.
Haileyn Reuter and Victoria Wang of Livingston both were given honorable mention in the division, the most competitive in the SEC in girls' soccer.
