LIVINGSTON, NJ - As TAP reported yesterday, on Friday Dec. 28, 2012, the Livingston Mall lost power and it closed at approximately 6:30 p.m. According to Sgt. Ron Barbella of the Livingston Police, a transformer blew and caused a blackout.
Barbella said JCP&L was on the scene repairing it, but he was not sure how long it would take or if the mall would be open at all on Saturday. He said that yesterday there were no issues evacuating people from the mall and everyone remained calm.
As of 3 p.m. on Saturday Dec. 29, 2012, the mall is still partially without power and it is not known when the rest of the mall's power will be fully restored, according to the Livingston Police Department.
