LIVINGSTON, NJ — Following an initial call from a business on the Regent St. Complex in Livingston about a suspicious person possibly with a weapon, Livingston police responded and were able to clear the area of any potential danger at approximately 10:30 a.m.

All schools in the area were locked down as a precaution as the subject allegedly barricaded himself in a nearby building.

“When the officers got up there, they realized it might have been a patient from a facility up there that was having some type of episode,” said Livingston Police Chief Craig Handschuch. “[Officers] located the suspect and took him for evaluation at the hospital. The schools are now clearing their lockdown.”
