LIVINGSTON, NJ - Livingston Public Schools has been recognized as one of the state's safest by the co-op program that manages its group insurance policies.
Business Administrator Steven Robinson accepted the 2014 Safety Award from the New Jersey Schools Insurance Group (NJSIG) on behalf of the District.
Every year, the NJSIG selects approximately 10 percent of the school districts participating in the co-op to receive this distinction. Livingston is one of 39 districts to receive the award this year from among the more than 400 districts currently participating in NJSIG's workers' compensation pool.
Recipients of the award are determined using several criteria including a safety assessment of the district’s facilities and policies, and minimizing workers’ compensation costs.
The safety awards were announced on Oct. 28 at the New Jersey School Boards Association (NJSBA) convention in Atlantic City. 2014 recipients of the award were recognized for implementing an effective safety program in their districts.
The Burlington-based NJSIG is a non-profit entity providing property and casualty insurance at reduced costs to public schools throughout New Jersey. It is the only statewide insurance pool for property, casualty, and workers compensation.
