“The goal of our Best Places to Live rankings is to provide accurate, comparable and thorough evaluations of places,” Niche states on its website. “To do so, we’ve collected and analyzed dozens of rankings factors from federal and local government datasets. We’ve combined those with proprietary Niche data and community reviews from each area.”

The most recent review for the Township of Livingston states the following:

“A larger New Jersey town, with a great school system, and child friendly neighborhoods. The town is close to many highways, which provide easy access to New York City. While Livingston does not have train service, there is a bus that takes you into New York City. Livingston is convenient for shopping as the Livingston Mall and the Short Hills Mall are close by, and there are plenty of strip malls with all kinds of stores in the surrounding towns. Since Livingston is a safe town, you can see many kids riding bikes around town during the summer months.”
