Livingston Summerfest to Kick Off Season on Saturday, Rain or Shine


LIVINGSTON, NJ — More than a dozen food trucks will be participating in the Livingston First Aid Squad Food Truck event to be held rain or shine on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Livingston High School parking lot (or inside the cafeteria in the case of rain) as part of the second annual Livingston Summerfest, which attracted more than 7000 people in its first year.  

Residents of Livingston and surrounding areas are invited to kick off the season with the 2017 Livingston Summerfest, which also incudes a craft show, an assortment of inflatable rides sponsored by RWJBarnabas Health, the Livingston Sunrise Rotary Duck Race fundraiser, the Haines Pool Open House and music by DJ Chuck Russo.

Admission to the food truck event is $5 per person with proceeds benefitting the Livingston First Aid Squad, a volunteer organization since 1950. Children 12 years and under are permitted free. (See list of food trucks below.)

From 1:00 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Littell's Pond, the Livingston Sunrise Rotary Club will once again host its Duck Race, which involves more than 1000 plastic, numbered ducks that are currently being sold throughout Livingston. Sponsored by Regal Bank, Investors Bank, PIP Printing and CareOne, the fundraiser will award many prizes to the “Duck Owners” as they cross the finish line. (Click HERE to learn more.)

Additional Summerfest activities include the Livingston Senior Youth & Leisure Services’ (SYLS) Haines Pool Open House, where all Livingston residents are invited the pool facility free of charge from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. and will have the opportunity to purchase a pool membership.

“The best part of Summerfest is that all of the events are located in the same general area,” said organizer Scott Maynard. “All of the attendees can participate in the events at their leisure. Summerfest is a very family-friendly event.”
